Geisha Doll Halloween Makeup look By Bubbly aka Joyce

2013-10-28 00.39.19I’ve always been fascinated with Japanese culture and most of all the clothing and makeup worn by geishas. So this year I decided to try doing a geisha look, but since I have classes to attend I figure that I would tone it down a little bit. Geishas are known to have beautiful white makeup, eyes that are lined with black eyeliner, red eyeshadow, and tiny red lips. All together the look creates a powerful impact and leaves an unforgettable image for the person.

For my look I used a really light concealer to as my foundation, which makes me look really pale and white in some lighting. I didn’t want to use a pure white because I wanted this look to be more doll-like than full geisha. Also instead of a red lipstick i used a light peachy color which gives all the attention to the eyes.

2013-10-28 00.09.00I mainly concentrated mostly on the eyes with my look. I believe the eyes are the window to the soul and it leaves a huge impact on people who see it. I used the bright pink on my eyelids and the red under my eye from the 88 color palette. I added fake lashes on both the top and bottom of my eye. For my bottom lash i glued it on about 1/2 a cm from my real lash line, this gives the illusion that my eyes are a lot bigger, in order to make this look more natural I used NYX Jumbo Pencil – Cottage Cheese to color in the space. By doing this it both highlights and conceals that part of the eye.

2013-10-28 01.03.08By putting my hair up in a bun and adding a few hair pieces, and changing my lip color I have completely change the feel of the look. With these minor changes I look even more like a geisha doll.

Happy Halloween,

Bubbly aka Joyce
