“When creating colors for a new seasonal collection, I always draw inspiration from the food, music, art, landscape and street style of a particular destination,” remarks Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder & Executive VP. “While conceptualizing the shades of the Nordic Collection, I ate cinnamon buns and drank glogg, snapped photographs of brightly painted houses, and gazed in wonder at the region’s topography – from the northern lights and midnight sun to lava flats and deep fjords. All of these diverse elements came together to inspire an equally varied array of colors that capture the aesthetic of the Nordic region.

Today i’m happy to share my recent favorite nail polish color that i seem to be wearing a lot lately. It’s the fantastic China Glaze Lotus Begin from Spring 2014 collection. It’s a brilliant purple color that has a medium tone, but still has some white to it, making it a cross between a pastel and a neon. Without top coat it has a semi-matte rubbery sheen, which i think looks very modern, but i also like to top it with my Seche Vite to add some beautiful shine 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you mommies and mommies-to-be! And for all of us – even though we don’t remember the time we used to be clingy toddlers and hugged our mother’s leg, the time she kissed our boo-boos and we suddenly felt better, the time she was the exact center of our little universes.. but she certainly does. And deep inside, you’re still her baby no matter what’s your age and how many children you may have.. Hug your Mom! 🙂
