Phoenix Beauty Lounge University: Makeup Mistakes

Welcome Back to our Phoenix Beauty Lounge University!

One small tip that will make your makeup routine a bit smoother by permanently removing one common time-waster.

Class #10

Just correct that makeup mistake. Don’t ruin the good side to match the bad

Just correct that makeup mistake. Don’t ruin the good side to match the bad

“Just correct that makeup mistake. Don’t ruin the good side to match the bad.”

Oh where do i begin. We’ve all been there and have a lot of painful memories about trying to match the good side to the bad and both of them going terribly wrong. Not to mention we’re late and frustrated.

However, we all have other kind of memories. The kind where you quickly grab a q-tip and quickly correct that mis-hap, then even out the line. The happier kind.

Let’s just do justice to the side that came out perfectly fine and don’t even consider messing it up. Rather remove that extra blusher, that asymmetrical lip liner bit, mis-matched eye liner stroke, and uneven eye shadow.

Let’s face it – we all know how to gently remove the wrong bits of makeup. Let’s just remember all those easy tricks and incorporate them in our daily life so we’re able to quickly clean up the small makeup mistakes and give ourselves another try at doing things right. After all, makeup is all about free-handing the lines of your face 🙂 and sometimes we have to put it on “before” our first cup of coffee and in other challenging and emotionally unstable situations.

Hmm.. So this time you caught yourself by the arm before escalating into that makeup frustration scenario and just erased the wrong bit. Ahh.. doesn’t it feel much better already? You’re welcome!

Please share your personal beauty dilemmas in the comments below and it may get featured in our future classes!

Phoenix Beauty Lounge University: Lip Shaping Trick

Welcome Back to our Phoenix Beauty Lounge University!

This is not the kind of university where you’d want to miss your classes, right?

Today we will examine a trick our body does to us when we do our makeup.

Tip #7

YoureWelcomeWednesday Beauty University: Lip Shape

YoureWelcomeWednesday Beauty University: Lip Shape

“Lining your lips from the outer corner in will create a more full, round lip shape. Lining lips from middle out tends to create a more pointy cupid’s bow”

In 90 cases out of 100, this is what tends to happen. It’s just how are hands work.

Choosing a more rounded lip silhouette or a pointy and straight lip is entirely up to you. Both are fun, but the first one seems to be in line with what’s considered to be the “current beauty ideal”. Whatever.

You can always experiment with both and see what suits your face or your mood better. But it’s always good to know what you’re doing and achieve your desired lip look intentionally.

Have you noticed that sometimes both sides of your lips look uneven or asymmetrical? Look into the way you paint them in. Whatever the lip look, please use the same method on both sides. Makes sense? You’re welcome!

Phoenix Beauty Lounge University: brow pencil vs brow powder

Welcome back to our Phoenix Beauty Lounge University!

Tip #3:

“Which product should i better use to fill my eyebrows: a pencil or a powder?” This is one of the most frequently asked questions regarding the selection of right brow product to fill individual beauty needs of our clients. Although we all have our personal beauty preferences established throughout the years, and there is no such thing as right or wrong when it comes to beauty, if you are still debating “brow pencil vs brow powder” use this simple logic:

Rule of thumb: if you have sparse eyebrows with lots of skin you can paint on - use pencil. If you have fuller brows - use powder
